"This tattoo design was brought to me by one of my clients in the form of the latest Crazy Frog CD cover. Ironically enough, I converted the original 3d computer design back to 2d with Adobe Photoshop. I also added the 2 X's on the shirt and the bottle in the hand, per the clients request. Can you guess his favorite beer? :P
To get the color scheme, I took about 20 color samples from the original scan and narrowed it down to 8.
The entire tattoo is aboout 5 inches tall by 5 inches wide. This made the outline very thin and delicate. I found myself nearly cross-eyed several times when "drawing" and tattooing this piece.
I believe the inspiration behind this tattoo is a sincere love for techno-style music and Dos Equis beer. This guy brought the CD-cover in and made an appointment for 2 days later. He showed up before I did on appointment day (how embarassing). We discussed the artwork, covered the paperwork and business basics, and went to work.
While I worked, the conversation swung from techno music to 3D graphics to hurricanes in The Gulf of Mexico. I would'nt say that the chest is a painless place for a tattoo, but he took it well, as all dedicated fans do."
